Site 69 - Le Cormier

Le Cormier is a small site with, I believe, 12 pitches as well as a number of studio apartments or Gites. We discovered it in the advertising pages of The Caravan Club magazine and what a find.

We phoned to ask our stock question about twin axle acceptance and Welsh owner Mike Smith replied “. . . we have no concern about twin axles other than with the wet weather we have been having some of the pitched are a little boggy for such a heavyweight. Would you object if we sited you on the gravel roadway? . . .”

When we arrived it was pouring with rain and Mike appeared with a large umbrella for us to shelter under while he showed us round. It was decided the best place for us was off the grass so we set up directly outside the house just a few yards from the studio apartments that were being used over winter to provide caravanners with warm winter toilet and shower facilities.

Once we had agreed a location and started to set up camp Mikes wife and co-owner, Cath, appeared with a most welcome cup of tea - hows that for a welcome.

WiFi on the site is currently free and for when we were camped very fast indeed although it must be said that we were the only users for much of our stay.

There is a wealth of things to see and do in the area but if thats not enough there is table tennis, darts, boule and a host of other games available on the site.

This is a top notch site and a must for anyone wishing to visit or stop overnight while passing through the Loire.
